Cliché Luck

Cliché Luck

By Curt Vaughn

I think I would like to live in a apple orchid, for if I were surrounded by apples surely I could keep doctors away.
I would also like to have pennies line my way to work every day so when I pick them up I will have good luck.
Then I would hand out the pennies to smart investors for there thoughts while putting my earning away in case of rain.
Next I would put a grin stone next to a hammock and pool in the sun so I could work all day long while I play.
Finally, I would end my day by putting on rags in hopes of waking up with more riches.

Natures Path

Natures Path....
By
Curt Vaughn....

The fire burns the new leaf sky under a blanket of fireflies.
While we the trees converse through winds of the new dawn
until the new sunset brings rolling rocks to our roots, after
we have eaten the rays and sampled the rivers of our youth
What wisdom have we passed from branch to branch?
And what new paths through the forest have we made?
Will we go wandering or shall we stay in our already
rich and fertile soil that does not change and can be explained.
Let’s cast off the dead branches and grow new ones and surround
ourselves with the fresh foliage of the spring of happiness.
And let’s find contentment with the wild animals that nibble
at our feet and pass the dinner plates of sharing to them
and all that come along our path.  For the wildfires of time
could come at anytime for one leaf, one tree, or even one forest.
These do not make nature it self but the knowledge that moves with
the wind, water, and rocks along each path connects us
as long we keep exploring the known, and unknown paths.
And do not let the paths disappear under the moss of nature as
we know it can not be loss, in this you can always find your
bright sky and smile back at it and laugh for a while.

The Cave and the Butterfly's

The Cave and the Butterfly's
By Curt Vaughn

I am walking in the woods and then I see her at the mouth of the cave.
She enters and I know I must follow after her, so I begin to walk towards the entrance.
A group of butterflies follows me in as I enter, and stay with me throughout the journey.
It is dark, but beautiful as I see her up ahead of me climbing into the great abyss.
I hurry after her while the butterfly’s still remain to fly around my dim lantern.
She is repealing down the cave walls like she has been here before, I feel the same way about this place.
So, I throw my line down and without haste cast off into the dark but familiar pit.
I rich the bottom where the butterfly’s now seem to be finally settling,
and I see her standing next to a giant underground waterfall, she walks or jumps through it I do not know.
There is only one way to find out for myself, it is to take that step or leap of faith after her.
Will we come out together on the other side in one piece one can only dream to hope.
